The results of the survey are available!

Last month we asked you to participate in a quick survey related to the Alpha, and many of you answered!

Thanks to your help, we can better understand what you think about Alpha and what you want from us. We told you the results would be public, so here they are. We removed from the results the answers of people who answered "no" to the question "did you participate in the Alpha?", since this survey only concerned those who had participated. Also, for the last question about the games you are looking forward to the most, there were so many different answers that we could not make any statistics on it.

Considering that Let's Role is still in Alpha, mostly positive results are reassuring. It means that we are going in the right direction. However, we must continue our efforts to make Let's Role as complete and easy to use as possible.

These results are very similar to the overall score, satisfactory but also a reminder that we must continue to improve the tools available, and offer new ones.

We've always put usability first, and seeing that over 40% of you give a neutral or negative rating to ease of use is a problem we'll address as a priority. Online role-playing can quickly become complex, and finding interfaces and tools that are both comprehensive and easy to use is a challenge, but clearly we can do better.

Survey result

For an Alpha, these results are extremely encouraging.

Thanks to the kindness of the community, always ready to answer questions from newcomers, our moderators nerghull, Dyzae and Tiamate, and Jonathan for the more advanced interventions, the support is going very well.

For the moment, we are not very active on social networks. We only post news from time to time, and only when it's important. There is a chance that we will become more active over time, but for now, it seems to be working for you.

Survey result

We were surprised by several results to this question. For example, that the drawing and measuring tools are so high. So we will take special care of these (starting with changing the textures of the drawings which need it!). Then we expected to find the Soundboard much lower. This time again, we will see how to improve it, and add new sound effects. Finally, we wanted the Journal to be one of the most complete features of Let's Role, seeing it this low means it doesn't meet your expectations as much as we would like. A big rework of the Journal is therefore to be expected.

Once again, several surprises in these results. That dynamic lighting is in first position is not a surprise, and it will be one of the very first things to be done once the Beta is launched. Video backgrounds will be available directly in Beta. On the other hand, we clearly didn't expect to see the companion app so eagerly awaited! This gives us a good idea of the roadmap we have to adopt, and that we should make the companion app quickly, in 2022. The play-by-text and statistics are still good ideas, but we will implement them later.
